"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thristy and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison and you came to visit me."

Changing Lives

Changing lives is really what His House Ministries is all about and no where is that more evident than in the very heart of our local ministries.

Rev. Garland Ramsey founded His House Ministries in 1974.  God gave him a vision for taking things that were being discarded and using them to change the lives of homeless and alcoholic men.  Thus, a Thrift Store, Grace Mens Program and Mens Mission were established.

When Rev. Roger Weaver joined His House Ministries in 1991, he brought a renewal of the vision for the spiritual development of the programs.  The influence of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was built into every feature of every activity of His House Ministries.

Since that time, thousands of men have received shelter, food and Christian rehabilitation services through His House Ministries Grace Mens Program and many more have receive food and overnight shelter in the Mens Mission.

His House Ministries receives NO federal, local or United Way funding, but relies solely on donations of used items that can be sold  in our Thrift Stores to fund all activites.  Over 90% of every dollar goes directly to funding our programs.

Although His House Ministries has held chapel services and weekly meetings that were open to the public for many years, it was not until the purchase and remodel of an old auto parts store in 2002 that Meeting Street Chapel got a permanent home and  His House was able to have a place of worship for the participants of the Grace Mens Program as well as the surrounding community.

In 2010, 78 People professed Jesus as Lord in our chapel services, 18,504 people attended our services, our prayer  ministry received approximately 40 prayer request daily and we ministered 62% of our Chapel offerings to the needs of our chapel families. Daily services are held at Meeting Street Chapel and are open to the public.
